One of our 5th grade mainstays, Owen Went, first signed up to play hockey with Fairy Meadow Hockey Club in 1963 in the Under 14s.

This was back when all Hockey was played on a Saturday and he played grade with St Johns. Men's hockey was then switched to a Sunday and so he played grade with Fairy Meadow.

The spirit of the Falcons soon flowed through his veins – he has played every season since - 54 years and counting! Our records indicate that Owen has played 618 games for the mighty Fairy Meadow Falcons and when rep games and games for other clubs are added the total is closer to 1400! Commitment, dedication, longevity!
